Job Description
DEFINITION
: The Executive Director (ED) is the senior operational leader for an assigned county/counties at GRAND Mental Health. This role is responsible for the daily oversight, supervision, performance, and community presence of all county-based operations, programs, and personnel. This role will be over Nowata and Osage counties. The Executive Director ensures that county clinics operate efficiently, comply with organizational standards, deliver high-quality services, and maintain strong community relationships. This position directly supervises Integrated Team Managers (ITMs) and provides hands-on support to clinical, administrative, and support teams to ensure optimal client care and operational excellence. The Executive Director is directly supervised by the Regional Vice President (VP) of Operations.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Social Services, Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred 3+ years of supervisory experience in behavioral health or human services Experience managing daily operations, personnel, and program workflows Experience working with budgets, service data, productivity expectations, and performance dashboards Knowledge of Oklahoma's behavioral health systems is preferred Demonstrated capacity to supervise and develop diverse teamsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The Executive Director must demonstrate: Operational Knowledge Strong understanding of day-to-day behavioral health operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity, and client flow. Working knowledge of accreditation, regulatory, and compliance standards relevant to behavioral health services. Ability to implement organizational policies and ensure county alignment with regional and agency-wide standards. Familiarity with EHR systems, telehealth, Microsoft Office, Power BI, and basic analytics tools. Leadership & Supervisory Skills Ability to lead, supervise, and develop Integrated Team Managers, business service staff, and other administrative and clinical personnel. Ability to manage staff performance and hold individuals and teams accountable to expected standards. Skill in coaching, mentoring, and developing future leaders. Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to manage sensitive personnel issues. Communication & Relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships across staff, clients, community partners, and leadership teams. Ability to represent GRAND Mental Health in community settings and maintain positive local partnerships. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Ability to interpret county-level operational dashboards, KPIs, and financial reports to guide decision making. Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement practical process improvement strategies. Comfortable using data to drive decisions and improve outcomes.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible and immediately supervised by the Regional VP of Operations. The Executive Director is responsible and held accountable for the following duties: County Leadership & Staff Supervision Directly supervise all Integrated Team Managers (ITMs) and support staff within the county. Provide daily leadership, communication, and strategic direction to county teams. Ensure all staff receive required training, supervision, coaching, and development. Conduct regular supervisory meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing accountability checks. Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to GRAND's mission and values. Operational Management & Workflow Oversight Oversee all day-to-day operations of the assigned county clinic(s). Ensure efficient service flow, adequate staffing, crisis coverage, and client access to care. Monitor staff caseloads, team coverage, and clinical service delivery, ensuring quality client care is delivered based on both client need and desire for services. Address operational challenges immediately and resolve workflow barriers. Maintain visible presence within the county clinical operations. The Executive Director is expected to be present in assigned county location daily, unless otherwise approved by Regional VP of Operations. Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory standards at all times. Financial & Resource Management Work closely with the Regional VP to develop and manage the county budget. Monitor daily and monthly financial performance, including overtime, expenses, and revenue trends. Ensure productivity expectations are met for all staff and teams, providing coaching's and supportive assistance for clinicians not meeting expectations. Understand and utilize cost-per-service and resource allocation data to support staffing and operational decisions. Quality, Compliance, and Performance Improvement Ensure timely and accurate documentation ( through use of AI tools and/or collaborative documentation ), including progress notes and service reporting. Monitor quality indicators, compliance requirements, and audit readiness. Implement corrective actions when performance gaps are identified. Use dashboards and KPIs to identify trends and improve county performance. Support implementation of agency-wide and regional initiatives, new workflows, and quality improvement projects. Community & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary GRAND representative within the assigned county / counties. Develop and sustain positive working relationships with: Local hospitals Schools Law enforcement Judicial systems Tribal partners Community coalitions Faith-based and civic organizations Other community organizations Maintain regular visibility and attendance at community boards, meetings, and stakeholder groups. Identify community needs and communicate them to the Regional VP to support strategic planning. Workforce & Culture Management Support staff retention efforts and maintain a stable county workforce through strengths-based supervision and accountability efforts. Implement workforce development activities, including cross-training, and leadership development. Promote values of professionalism, client-centered care, and continuous quality improvement. Address personnel concerns promptly and appropriately, in collaboration with HR and Regional VP. Crisis Response & Risk Management Ensure strong crisis response workflows and coordination with URC's and community partners (i.e., Hospitals, ER's, etc.) Participate in county-level crisis planning, safety planning, and emergency preparedness. Address and report all critical incidents, grievances, or risk events according to agency policy and procedures. Maintain strong bias for safety and risk mitigation across all county operations.OTHER DUTIES
Perform job-related travel within the county and region. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job duty. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Regional VP or other members of Executive Leadership. Must meet "satisfactory" expectations at all job performance evaluations.PERFORMANCE METRICS
