Full-Time, 12 Month Position Position Overview The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and strategic leader of WK Jackson Leadership Academy, responsible for overall school performance, compliance, financial stewardship, and board governance. This role ensures the school meets all academic, operational, and legal expectations while driving continuous improvement in a CSI (Comprehensive Support and Improvement) environment. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of school leadership, including instruction, operations, finance, human resources, and community engagement, and serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and state agencies Core Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & School Performance
  • Establish and execute the school's vision, goals, and strategic priorities
  • Lead school improvement efforts aligned to CSI requirements
  • Monitor overall academic performance and scholar outcomes Compliance & Accountability
  • Ensure compliance with: o OSDE accreditation requirements o ESEA grant expectations and performance reporting o State laws including attendance, immunizations, safety, and instructional time
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required reports and documentation Financial Management
  • Develop and oversee the annual school budget
  • Manage financial operations in alignment with approved spending categories
Monitor:
o Expenditures and purchase orders o Financial planning and forecasting
  • Conduct monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Collaborate with Treasurer Board Governance
  • Develop and present Board meeting agendas
  • Maintain consistent communication through weekly meetings with the Board President
  • Ensure compliance with: o Open Meetings Act requirements o Proper posting of agendas, minutes, and public documents
  • Draft and revise board policies, procedures, and governance documents
  • Provide strategic updates and recommendations to the Board Human Resources & Organizational Leadership
  • Oversee all aspects of staffing, hiring, and organizational structure
  • Ensure compliance with: o Certification requirements o ESEA parent notification requirements for non-certified staff Instructional Oversight
  • Provide high-level oversight of: o Curriculum selection and implementation o Instructional systems and academic programming
  • Ensure alignment between instructional leadership and school Operations & School Management
  • Oversee all operational functions Enrollment & Community Engagement
  • Monitor enrollment and attendance trends and implement improvement strategies
  • Lead scholar recruitment efforts
  • Oversee engagement strategies
  • Support strong relationships with families and the broader community Special Education Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with Child Find and Child Count requirements Required Qualifications Qualifications Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of educational leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success in: o School leadership o Organizational management o Academic improvement Preferred Qualifications Preferred
  • Valid Oklahoma Superintendent Certification
  • Experience in a charter school environment
  • Experience in a CSI or school turnaround setting
