Job Description

Automotive General Manager Own the Business. Drive Performance. Build a Winning Operation. We're seeking a high-impact Automotive General Manager to lead from the front and take full ownership of dealership performance. This role is for a disciplined, results-focused leader who thrives on accountability, drives profitability, and knows how to build and scale strong management teams. If you're motivated by numbers, execution, and building a dealership that consistently wins — this role delivers both authority and upside. What You'll Own (Core Responsibilities) Operational Leadership Lead and oversee all day-to-day dealership operations Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards across all departments Hold managers accountable for results, productivity, and execution Profitability & Growth Develop and execute growth strategies that increase revenue and net profitability Create, manage, and control operating budgets Analyze financial statements, KPIs, and departmental performance Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective action quickly People & Performance Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing managers and staff Train leaders to operate with discipline, urgency, and accountability Evaluate individual and departmental performance with data-driven precision Build a culture of ownership, execution, and continuous improvement Strategic Execution Research market trends and identify opportunities for expansion and improvement Translate strategy into measurable action plans Prepare reports and deliver clear, decisive performance updates Partner with ownership to align short- and long-term objectives What It Takes to Win in This Role Strong understanding of dealership operations and core business functions 5+ years of automotive experience required , preferably in a management or senior leadership role Proven ability to lead teams, drive results, and improve performance Highly organized with strong attention to detail Decisive, proactive, and execution-focused Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong work ethic with a hands-on leadership approach Comfortable using technology, reporting tools, and performance dashboards Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation consisting of a monthly base salary plus performance-based bonus Overall compensation is directly influenced by experience and dealership profitability Full-time position Comprehensive benefits package including: 401(k) with 2% match Health, dental, vision & life insurance Paid time off Employee discounts Professional development assistance
