Job Description

Safe Place of the Permian Basin, a non-profit agency working with survivors of domestic violence and their children, is seeking a full-time Assistant Director. Position Summary The Assistant Director is responsible for the daily administration and operation of all facets of Safe Place including fundraising, public relations, financial services, staffing, counseling and shelter operations. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in every organizational aspect of Safe Place such as client services, supervision of all staff, counselors, trainees, and volunteers. The Assistant Director provides leadership and direction to the management team, staff, and volunteers in the performance of their responsibilities. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance ensuring Safe Place's mission and goals are effectively executed. Key Responsibilities Assists the Executive Director in implementation of policies adopted by the Board. Has chief administrative responsibility for public accountability of Safe Place and regular reporting to various bodies. Assists the Executive Director and CFO in daily financial operations and budget management. Assists the Development Director in overall direction of development activities to ensure program funding is available. Assists the Executive Director in supervising and directing key staff in the performance of their duties. Responsible for evaluating the performance of staff members and provides overall control and direction for the personnel functions of Safe Place, including active participation in or approval of personnel actions. Recommends proposals to the Executive Director and Personnel Committee regarding staffing levels, salaries and benefits. Conducts staff development through staff meetings and continued education programs within and outside Safe Place. Responsible for maintaining all personnel files. Responsible for overseeing all benefits such as insurance, workers compensation and retirement. Assists the Executive Director in evaluating the services being provided by Safe Place in relation to the specified goals and standards; recommends modifications, where appropriate. Recommends and/or provides input on proposed new programs. Reviews all program and administrative activities to ensure that effective and efficient services are provided to clients. Assists the Executive Director in maintaining visibility and a strong positive image for Safe Place. May act as Safe Place's spokesperson/liaison with other social agencies, local/state governmental agencies, law enforcement, the media and the community. Promotes community education concerning the victims of family violence and supervises community relations efforts. Communicates and cooperates with organizations, committees and individuals working on all aspects of family violence, including other family violence programs. Assists the Executive Director in developing and recommending to the Board of Directors specific, written long-range and short-range plans for Safe Place, as well as for appropriate relations with Safe Place's Board and various Board committees. Competency in operations of computers, printers, copiers, scanning equipment, mobile phone and calculator use. Must be able to safely drive an automobile during both day and night hours. Proficiency in
Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office:
word, excel, power point and data base applications. Proficiency in social media platforms, development of promotional materials and website maintenance. Responsible for applying principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Develop and implement a detailed plan of action based on findings and conclusions. Demonstrates continuous learning and knowledge regarding statistics, policy changes and applicable legislation related to family violence services. Prepare business letters, summaries and reports with proper format. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, orientations, and staff informational meetings. Qualifications Five years of supervisory or managerial experience in social service or related field. Graduation from an accredited college or university, Master's degree preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have proven leadership skills. Successful fundraising experience desired. Financial knowledge and thorough understanding of accounting and concepts. Must have experience in the hiring process with knowledge of benefits and insurance.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
