The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for leadership development within a fast-paced retail environment, requiring strong organizational and management skills. The Assistant Manager will be instrumental in driving sales, managing inventory, and maintaining store standards to meet business objectives. •There is a training period where pay is $18/hr.•Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service Oversee employee orientation, training & development, and performance evaluations Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, utilizing excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies Support recruiting efforts through interviewing and onboarding new employees Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships for inventory procurement Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and increase store visibility Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures Utilize POS systems effectively for sales transactions and inventory management Assist in budgeting, sales management, and store financial analysis to optimize profitability Maintain organized records of sales data, inventory levels, and employee schedules Experience Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervisory responsibilities Strong background in sales management, team management, and customer service excellence Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS software, and retail math principles Experience in recruiting, training staff, payroll administration, bookkeeping, and cash handling Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising, stock control, and store operations Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases Prior experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous Strong communication skills coupled with effective time management capabilities are essential for success in this role
