Job Description
We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of the hotel. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people, revenue management, ensuring all shifts are covered, supply and logistics, inventory management, and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping your people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Ultimately, you'll help our company grow and thrive. This is an extremely successful hotel, and the ideal candidate will be a leader who truly leads, and trains their team to thrive. Your schedule will be dictated by the needs of the hotel, so sharing weekend leadership will be necessary. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations Design strategy and set goals for growth Maintain budgets and optimize expenses Set policies and processes Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally Oversee hiring and training of new employees Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance Direct the employee assessment process Prepare regular reports for upper management Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations Step in, whenever necessary to ensure smooth and successful operations Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors) Ensuring coverage for all shifts Scheduling and logistics Working within a budget/forecast AR and AP functions Payroll for property Skills Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role Experience in planning and budgeting Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.) Strong analytical ability Excellent communication skills Outstanding organizational and leadership skills Problem-solving aptitude BS/BA in Business or relevant field; MS/MA is a plus Prior hotel manager experience expected Ability to multi-task and lead from the front Ability to focus on sales goals and execute the sales plan Professional responsiveness Driven, self-starter who is results oriented
