Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Education or other appropriate field with Head Start expertise preferred. An Advanced degree is preferred. Must have at least 5 years of experience managing a comprehensive educational child and family development program. A demonstrated record of success in administering Head Start, Early Childhood Education, Prevention or Early Intervention programs of comparable size is required. Must have administrative and supervisory experience. Must have grantsmanship skills. Must have basic knowledge of Financial Management. Must have access to an automobile and valid license. Must be able to travel out of the area and be available to work evenings. Must be sensitive to the needs of young children and their parents. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Organizational, coalition building, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to hire, motivate, and nurture staff to their full potential is required. Would be beneficial with skill in negotiations.
