Job Description

Marana is one of the fastest growing communities in Southern Arizona, located approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. Dedicated Service, Respect, Teamwork and Engaged Innovation. The Town of Marana is seeking an Assistant to the Town Manager to work in the Town Manager's Office. This full-time position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to work at the center of municipal leadership, supporting executive-level operations and advancing strategic priorities that shape the Town of Marana. Pursuant to the Marana Town Code, Sections 3-1-2(D) and 3-1-3(B), and the current Salary Schedule implemented by the Town Manager, the position of Assistant to the Town Manager is defined as an Unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will employees and employment that may be terminated upon the will of the employer or employee at any time with or without cause. Expected Hiring Range:
$70,538.94 - $88,173.38 placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget
Salary Range:
$70,538.94 - $105,807.83 Develops, coordinates, manages and participates in programs to represent and advance the intergovernmental interests of the Town, serving as key liaison to local, county, state, and federal agencies. Advocate for the Town to ensure effective execution of programs. Conduct specific and comprehensive analysis of a wide range of municipal policies and administrative forums involving organizations, procedures, finance, and services. Serve as the initial point of contact for citizens; ensure appropriate response/follow-up is provided by affected departments. Manage and facilitate the Town's Strategic Plan, including development, implementation, performance tracking, and reporting. Monitor progress on goals, identify gaps, and recommend adjustments to ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Oversee and lead short and long-term projects on behalf of the Town Manager, ensuring collaboration with key stakeholders and alignment with organizational priorities. Bachelor's degree Over three years of experience working with executive-level staff in local government or in a related field.
Additional Requirements:
Valid Arizona Driver License. Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
