In this contract role, you will play a critical part in managing post-award grant activities, ensuring compliance with fiscal policies, and supporting principal investigators (PIs) with financial oversight. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of various research initiatives within a dynamic university environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist principal investigators with onboarding processes for new awards, including requesting pre-award or advance account setup. Monitor grant accounts daily to ensure proper budget allocation, policy compliance, and alignment with account purposes. Review and reconcile transactions routinely, ensuring expenditures align with budget terms, award conditions, and reporting standards. Provide customized monthly financial reports, including detailed projections of future expenditures. Support PIs in managing effort certifications, ensuring salary allocations accurately reflect project contributions. Facilitate post-award modifications such as budget adjustments, extensions, or other sponsor-approved revisions. Assist PIs with sponsor-required interim and final reporting, as well as financial closeout activities in adherence to university policies. Manage personnel effort and authorization processes in coordination with university payroll cycles. Ensure proper documentation and controls are in place for all transactions and processes related to grant accounts. A minimum of 3 years of experience in grant management, financial analysis, or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with grant terms and conditions. Proven ability to analyze and reconcile financial data with a high degree of accuracy. Familiarity with tools and systems used for financial monitoring, such as HuskyBuy and Concur, is a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with PIs and other stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with post-award grant processes, including reporting and closeout procedures. Knowledge of university fiscal policies and sponsor regulations is highly desirable.
