Job Description

Director of Fundraising & Grant Management
JOB DESCRIPTION
La Academia's Director of Fundraising & Grant Management is responsible for leading the school's fundraising and development initiatives to support the mission and long-term sustainability of the organization. This position works collaboratively with school leadership, the Board of Directors, staff, families, and community partners to secure philanthropic support and strengthen relationships with donors, foundations, and community organizations. This leadership position requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, and experience in fundraising, grant management, and donor stewardship within a nonprofit or educational setting.

Executive Director
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides strategic leadership for the school's fundraising efforts to ensure the financial sustainability of programs and initiatives. Identifies, cultivates, and solicits support from individual donors, public and private foundations, and corporate partners to advance the mission of La Academia. Conducts research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the school's mission and strategic priorities. Prepares and submits grant proposals and manages grant reporting requirements to maintain strong relationships with funding partners. Provides support to faculty and staff interested in pursuing grant opportunities, including overseeing reporting and compliance. Develops, implements, and manages annual fundraising initiatives, events, and campaigns. Maintains accurate records of donor engagement, contributions, and fundraising activities. Implements strategies for donor stewardship, including acknowledgments, recognition, and ongoing engagement to strengthen long-term relationships. Collaborates with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to support fundraising strategies and advancement initiatives. Works with school leadership and staff to identify funding needs and opportunities that support programs, initiatives, and strategic goals. Represents La Academia in community events and meetings where the opportunity to strengthen partnerships and increase philanthropic support would be appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned and/or stated in the Employee Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree plus CFRE certification or its equivalent required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or advancement in a nonprofit or educational setting. Demonstrated experience securing grants and managing grants and cultivating donor relationships. Experience planning and implementing fundraising campaigns and events. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with others from diverse backgrounds toward a common goal. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to La Academia's mission of inspiring children to become joyful, confident, creative, bilingual learners. Ability and desire to support a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive school community. Strong executive functioning skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
EMPLOYMENT CONTINGENCY
Acceptable Criminal Background Check, Delaware Child Protection Registry, & TB Test Verification of Credentials and Past Employment Adherence to applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as all relevant policies, including La Academia internal school policies.

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
