The university's students select majors from five colleges: Business Administration Education Engineering and Computing Media, Arts, and Communication Science and Humanities The campus is by far the most picturesque in the state of Georgia. Job Summary This position is responsible for providing support for the operations of the Office of Sponsored Research Administration, with the goal to support faculty and staff to acquire and manage sponsored program funding and thereby support SSU student success and engagement of SSU faculty and students in grant funded research, curriculum enhancement, and service programs.
NOTE:

Responsibilities Assist the manager of sponsored research in coordinating post award grant management and compliance processes to ensure that these functions are performed on time and in compliance with USG, university, and funding agency requirements. Be responsible for records management for funded programs. Provide pre-award support and office administration. Maintain sponsored program files and records in compliance with federal and state requirements. Execute procurement and travel requests for the office of sponsored research. Maintain office of sponsored research website. Schedule and support grant training workshops. Provide technical and administrative assistance for grants management functions (time and effort reporting, summer pay approvals, no cost extension requests, programmatic reports, processing of new awards and amendments). Maintain compliance systems to ensure effective control and accountability for the university's Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use (IACUC), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training, Financial Conflict of Interest, Radiation Safety (RS), Research Misconduct, and Research Security PI training requirements. Provide support for the Annual Research Conference. May be required to perform job-related duties other than those specifically delineated in this description. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Business, English, Communications, STEM, etc.) Three or more years of demonstrated experience in sponsored research or office administration within a college/university setting. Preferred Qualifications Certified Research Administrator certification Proposed Salary The proposed salary range is $48,000.00 to $52,000.00 annually. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of effective organization practices and document/file management and maintenance systems. Knowledge of university policies and regulatory agency guidelines related to grants management and compliance. Skills in interpersonal communication and professional oral and written communication. Skills in time management, prioritization, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Skills in using computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign, and website maintenance tools, with ability to quickly learn electronic research administration systems. Ability to coordinate pre¿award activities, including proposal submission, monitoring deadlines, tracking expenditures, and supporting compliance with sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, and external funding agencies to gather information, resolve issues, and communicate grant requirements, status updates, and compliance expectations clearly and professionally.
