Job Description

Responsible for ensuring Iowa Western is in compliance and meeting all deliverables for grants: federal, state, local and private. Provides oversight and management of grant processes from development to application, implementation, regulation and follow up. Demonstrate IWCC's core mission, vision and values Align grant efforts with institutional priorities Collaborate to determine grant funding strategies and opportunities Oversee pre-award activities including the supervision of the Grants Specialist Develop and modify policies/procedures/systems in accordance with government regulations and organizational needs and objectives Oversee approved funding contracts to ensure that documentation and reporting requirements are met prior to due dates Keep a schedule of grant renewal dates, reporting dates, and new grant due dates Collaborate with Grants Accountant to certify fiscal compliance Work with Program Managers to conduct regular desk reviews Attend shared governance, committee meetings, and workgroups as necessary Maintain annual registrations and memberships imperative to grant applications and compliance Serve primary resource for grant inquiries and lead efforts to educate and inform internal stakeholders Other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree, plus 5 years of experience in an applicable role; or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong research and project management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and government employees. •Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output Excellent customer service skills required Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Positive attitude and ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision Regular, prompt & reliable attendance Ability to make decisions in matter of importance Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment Ability to lift up to 10lbs While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
