Job Description:
Coordinator- Grants and Developmen t 1 ( BioMMED) The Coordinator Grants and Development 1 provides administrative and financial coordination support for the Division of Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (BioMMED) and associated programs including LBRN, Cancer COBRE, GeneLab, and conference initiatives (e.
MMED, LSU
administrative offices, and external partner institutions.Job Responsibilities:
30•Financial & Grant Administration:
Process and manage financial transactions including requisitions, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, expense reports, and invoices. Maintain accurate financial records across BioMMED, LBRN, and affiliated grant programs. Coordinate invoicing and financial reporting for sub-projects and partner institutions. Serve as a primary administrative contact for LBRN campuses to ensure timely processing of expenditures and compliance. 25•Budget Development & GeneLab Operations:
Assist in preparing budgets and budget justifications for grant submissions and program planning. Support financial tracking and cost allocation across multiple funding streams. Coordinate GeneLab cost center activities including iLab billing, reporting, and contract tracking. Work closely with BioMMED leadership and GeneLab Manager on financial operations. 20•Procurement, Compliance & Inventory:
Coordinate procurement activities including vendor communication, quotes, bids, and purchasing processes in compliance with LSU policies.Reconcile expenses and maintain procurement documentation.
Assist with inventory tracking of equipment and supplies.
Support compliance requirements for training programs, workshops, and conferences. 20
Subaward & Contract Coordination:
Assist with subaward setup and monitoring in collaboration with OSP and SPA. Review invoices and supporting documentation for compliance with grant and contractual requirements. Track subaward deliverables and timelines to ensure adherence to funding agency guidelines. 5- Other Duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Master's degree in Business Administration or Accounting; and experience in pre-award and post-award grant administration. Familiarity with NIH, NSF, or federal grant processes. Experience working in a university or research environment. Knowledge of LSU systems (Workday, iLab, procurement systems). Financial systems (e.g., Workday), Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) Budget tracking and reporting.Special and Physical Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:
25•Pre-Award Grant Development & Submission:
Independently coordinate preparation, review, and submission of grant proposals (NIH, NSF, and other agencies). Develop and review budgets and budget justifications in collaboration with PIs. Provide guidance to faculty on funding opportunities, submission requirements, and compliance. Coordinate proposal timelines, routing, and submissions through LSU systems (e.g., Workday, Cayuse if applicable).Assist with revisions, resubmissions, and sponsor communications. 25Post-Award Financial Management & Compliance:
Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and burn rates across multiple projects. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines (NIH, NIGMS, NSF, etc.).Prepare financial reports, projections, and reconciliations. Identify and resolve discrepancies in expenditures and reporting. Support audit readiness and documentation. 20Subaward & Multi-Institutional Coordination:
Independently coordinate sub-award setup, monitoring, and closeout in collaboration with OSP and SPA. Review sub recipient invoices and ensure compliance with award terms. Track deliverables, milestones, and reporting requirements across LBRN partner institutions. Serve as a liaison between BioMMED and collaborating campuses. 15GeneLab & Program Financial Operations :
Oversee financial operations of GeneLab cost center, including billing (iLab), reporting, and cost recovery. Manage internal and external service agreements and contracts. Support revenue tracking and sustainability planning for core facilities. 10Program Coordination & Strategic Support:
Support planning and execution of conferences, symposia, and training programs (e.g., NISBRE). Assist leadership in strategic financial planning for large grants and initiatives. Provide data and reports to support RPPRs, renewals, and institutional reporting. 5
Other Duties:
Perform additional duties as assigned to support BioMMED, LBRN, and institutional priorities.Minimum Qualifications:
