Job Description

Provides leadership and coordination for the internal operations and management of The Education Foundation headquarters. Works collaboratively with the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) leadership to manage a variety of initiatives and projects. Identifies, writes, and applies for grants and funding opportunities in a coordinated and systematic manner. Performs independently and collaborates within teams, on multiple research and evaluation projects covering a variety of educational issues. Provides consistent, visible leadership that fosters strong relationships with the school system and business community. Performs other duties as directed.
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree in business, public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Five years of professional and/or management experience in non-profit. Experience with fund development, marketing, and public relations preferred. Grant management experience working in a PreK-12 public education setting is preferred.

Ability to successfully engage stakeholders, including funders, business partners, policy makers, media, and communities. Thorough knowledge of grants applications and writing. Thorough knowledge of federal and state grant regulations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information. Ability to build and foster new relationships. Ability to work with business, community, and public entities. Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Knowledge of public education or school district organization. Skill in website management, development and maintenance. Skill with MS Office Suite applications and Prezi. Knowledge of PayPal management
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The work of this position involves walking, standing, carrying, and other limited physical activities.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employees may be required to work beyond their normally scheduled hours with little or no advanced notice. Employees in this class will be required to work some evenings and weekends. Employees should exhibit flexibility to work at multiple worksites. The Education Foundation of BCPS has headquarters in Towson, MD, along with two BCPS educator resource centers in Windsor Mill, MD and Rosedale, MD.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
All people employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109. Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US. If you have military experience, you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214. Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via e-script/clearinghouse from your university. Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing. All newly hired personnel must attend a Benefits and Retirement Orientation meeting. Additional job verification will be required for salary credit. Leads the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization. Works with and provides support to the Foundations executive committee and board of directors which includes presentations to the board at bi-monthly meetings and serving on several board committees. Continues foundation development with consideration for budgeting, local fund raising and sales infrastructures. Generates and manages sufficient cash flow practices to cover the cost of growth. Develop, implement, and track systems for reporting, measurement and supporting revenue generation. Facilitates the process of renewing programmatic partner contracts and develops tools and resources to reduce overhead cost of recurring functions, events, and programs. Works to increase key impact measurements of programs. Plans and coordinates events and assists with tracking and scheduling. Assists with training and management of interns and volunteers. Manages social media services with current and up to date postings relevant to the foundation's public presence. Produces and implements a performance metric throughout the organization that measures activities and their impact. Develops a relationship management system that provides the organization with efficient access to stakeholders and information which enables strategic communications. Leads administrative aspects of development to include proposal preparation and grant writing. Conducts research to identify project-appropriate funding sources. Seeks new grant opportunities from various agencies. Collects and analyzes information to develop a clear understanding of project and program scope for funding proposals, including compiling and synthesizing data from BCPS and external sources. Works collaboratively with departments throughout the system to draft grant narratives, letters of interest, and other supporting grant documents. Interprets federal and state guidelines for grants and provides a resource of information to others. Monitors federal funding cycles, foundation priorities, and fund distribution patterns. Assists personnel and provides training or technical assistance in understanding the grant process, program, and proposal development. Ensures quality control checks on work products to confirm data accuracy and integrity.
