PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Grant Manager leads the coordination, implementation, and oversight of Navajo Preparatory School's grant-funded programs across federal, state, and Tribal funding sources. This position ensures that all grant activities are executed with fidelity to approved proposals, aligned with programmatic goals, and compliant with all applicable regulations and reporting requirements. All staff are expected to actively uphold and embody the mission and vision of Navajo Preparatory School. This commitment is grounded in the Navajo Prep Diné Values. Staff are responsible for creating a learning environment that reflects these values, honors cultural identity, and supports students' development as leaders now and in the future. Working collaboratively across departments, the Grant Manager supports the full grant lifecycle, including proposal development, internal review and approval, program implementation, and reporting. The position ensures that grant-funded initiatives are effectively managed, outcomes are documented, and deliverables are completed on time and in alignment with funder expectations. The Grant Manager maintains internal budgets for all active grants and works closely with departmental staff and the Business Office to ensure alignment between program implementation and approved funding allocations. This includes monitoring expenditures, supporting proper coding and reimbursement processes, and ensuring timely and compliant grant spend-down. The position serves as the primary liaison between departmental staff, Associate Head of School for Advancement and Outreach, and the Business Office to ensure coordination between programmatic and fiscal components of all grants. The Grant Manager is responsible for the preparation and submission of all required reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines. This position will be for the upcoming
SY 2026-2027.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Education, or related field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grant management, program coordination, or related field
  • Experience managing federal, state, or tribal grants preferred
  • Strong knowledge of grant compliance, reporting requirements, and funding regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple grants, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical and narrative reporting
  • Experience with data tracking, evaluation, and outcome measurement
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with program staff, leadership, and fiscal personnel
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for Navajo/Native American culture and values
  • Commitment to implementing strategic priorities and supporting student-centered and community-based programs Navajo /

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Supports and carries out responsibilities in accordance with Navajo Preparatory School, Inc. (NPS) policies, procedures, and systems. 2. Leads the coordination and management of all active grants, including federal, state, and Tribal funded programs. 3. Research grant funding opportunities that align to the priorities and needs of the school. 4. Supports grant writing and pre-award processes, including proposal development, data collection, alignment with institutional priorities, and coordination of internal review and approval processes with grant writer and other key staff. 5. Ensures timely and accurate submission of grant applications and required documentation to funding agencies with the approval of Associate Head of School for Advancement and Outreach. 6. Ensures grant-funded programs are implemented with fidelity to approved proposals, scopes of work, and program objectives. 7. Maintains and monitors internal budgets for all grants to ensure alignment with approved budgets, program activities, and spending timelines. 8. Works with staff across all departments to ensure appropriate, allowable, and timely expenditure of grant funds, supporting full and compliant grant spend-down. 9. Collaborates closely with the business office to monitor budgets, expenditure tracking, account coding, and reimbursement processes. 10. Ensures all grant expenditures are allowable, properly documented, and aligned with approved grant budgets and timelines. 11. Develops and maintains systems to track grant deliverables, timelines, performance measures, and compliance requirements. 12. Leads the preparation and submission of all required grant reports, including programmatic, performance, and compliance reporting. 13. Monitors grant timelines and proactively addresses risks or delays related to implementation, spending, or reporting requirements. 14. Maintains organized and accurate records for all grants, including documentation required for audits, monitoring visits, and compliance reviews. 15. Coordinates site visits and external monitoring processes as required by funding agencies. 16. Provides guidance and support to staff to ensure compliance with grant requirements and effective implementation of activities. 17. Supports the development of internal systems and processes to strengthen grant management capacity across the organization. 18. Attends and participates in all required staff meetings, professional development, and school events. 19. Assists with cross-departmental initiatives that support grant-funded programming and institutional advancement. 20. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School or designee.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
To provide students with a strong academic program that will prepare them for college-level study; to create a learning environment that will allow students to grow and learn; to set high expectations for success; and to help students develop a positive self-esteem that they will carry the rest of their lives. This position works closely with the Diné Bizaad Institute Director, Diné Language instructors and program, as well as our teachers in the Arts. Knowledge and skills in the areas of weaving and silversmithing is required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in teaching preferred; Bachelor's degree acceptable with 5 years progressive experience in teaching at the secondary level.
  • Valid New Mexico teaching licensure with proper endorsement in assigned teaching area(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1.
Communicate on a regular basis with the academic team with regard to planning, assessment, subject organization, and classroom issues, such as discipline and expectations. 2. Develop good instructional planning and preparation for learning outcomes that are aligned with the school philosophy, IB philosophy and pedagogical approaches that are relevant to 21st century teaching and learning. 3. Models and promotes the IB Leaner Profile and international-mindedness in the classroom and across campus. 4. Aligns instructional practices and assessments to the rigor of IB Aims and Objectives. 5. Participate in professional learning communities to analyze data, as well as collaborate on creating curriculum, instruction and assessment. 6. Establish a culture of learning and maintain a classroom environment that has high expectations, promotes positive student interactions and is respectful and culturally sensitive. 7. Implements 21st century technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning. 8. Communicate with other school colleagues in an effort to promote student achievement across and within various disciplines and departments. 9. Take an active role in student behavioral management by communicating with parents, coaches, residential staff, academic counselor and others. 10.
