Grant Capacity Coach Salary $22,000.00 Annually Location Blue River, MO Job Type Part-Time Staff Job Number 2025-00440 Organization AC Student Services Grant Opening Date 04/27/2026 Closing Date 5/25/2026 11:59 PM Central FLSA Non-Exempt Description Benefits Questions About MCC Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission . In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well. •MCC does not provide employer-paid sponsorships. Job Summary The position supports the National Science Foundation grant that is funded from 10/1/2025 through 09/30/2028. The support aligns with the mission of the grant to improve the capacity of the Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator and other personnel to develop external partners, conduct events, and develop best practices in terms of grant applications and management. The capacity coach supports strategic intentions, boost confidence, and improve the improves stakeholders' efficiency.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Three (3) to five (5) years of being involved in a collaborative setting in a K-12 education, non-profit or Higher Education setting One (1) to three (3) years of experience being involved in supporting national grant(s) at the K-12 education, non-profit, or Higher Education Setting One (1) to two (2) years supervising staff with coaching and basic performance management Delivered training or professional development to small and large audiences Improves processes and documents simple SOPs and checklists Familiar with contracts, MOUs, vendor/instructor onboarding, and external partnership building Essential Functions Supports the EPIIC grant team to develop external partnerships, organizes and coordinates learning opportunities for the grant stakeholders and ensures all operations are performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures Plans, markets, coordinates, and evaluates EPIIC grant activities and other educational programs, and assists in developing strategic approaches for EPIIC grant to improve grant capacity; work may involve identifying external partners, communicating with vendors, and attending meetings to provide feedback to the EPIIC grant stakeholders Aids the Principal Investigators in reviewing the budget; work may involve monitoring expenditures and analyzing financial information, ensures departmental staff follow appropriate financial controls, and comply with applicable guidelines, standards, and requirements Coordinates with National, State and local economic, community, governmental, business, and educational organizations, and other internal/external staff, departments, and/or agencies; and serves as a liaison, representative, and spokesperson for an assigned program(s), to communicate information, promote and deliver services, and maintain business relationships Aids in the reviewing of proposals, contracts, reports, records, and other documentation, to facilitate EPIIC grant operations, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures Must be able to travel to different campuses within the MCCKC system and visit external partners periodically Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business/Accounting, a STEM related degree, Education or related field Three (3) years of experience in collaborative environments in a K-12 education, non-profit, or Higher Education setting or related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of budgetary principles Knowledge of current national grant landscape Knowledge of community and business partnership models and dynamics Knowledge of principles and practices of coordinating schedules Knowledge of principles and practices of instructional design and delivery Knowledge of principles and practices of using technology to facilitate meetings Knowledge of organizational structure and relationships in higher education and industry Knowledge of best practices, STEM trends and emerging STEM opportunities Knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting and fiscal management Knowledge of principles and practices of writing reports Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations Knowledge of customer service principles Knowledge of modern office technology Skilled in identifying and evaluating trends and developing, promoting and implementing responsive programs Skilled in developing and fostering community partnerships and agreements Skilled in reading, analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, manipulating and summarizing written materials and statistical data Skilled in exercising and maintaining confidentiality Skilled in providing project/program management, organization and logistics Skilled in providing customer service Skilled in utilizing a computer and relevant software applications Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information. Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Must be able to visit various campuses of the MCCKC system and external partner workplace sites.
