Full Job Description PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to oversee and integrate grant management and donor development functions for New Visions Homeless Services (NVHS). This role ensures strong grant revenue performance while building and sustaining meaningful donor relationships, supporting engagement strategies, and maintaining effective development systems. This position serves as a key point of contact for fund development support. It balances strategic grant writing with donor stewardship, engagement, and operational excellence. The role is designed to increase overall fundraising capacity while alleviating administrative and strategic burdens from existing NVHS staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES GRANT MANAGEMENT
(Approximately 50%) Generate revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well-written private sector grant proposals. Develop compelling letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications for individuals, foundations, and corporate funding. Develop and maintain grant calendars, submission timelines, and reporting schedules. Track progress and ensure compliance with funder requirements. Provide regular reporting and forecasting. Identify and evaluate new funding opportunities aligned with client priorities. Contribute to funding diversification strategies and annual grant planning. Maintain deep understanding of NVHS mission and programs to align grant strategy. Collaborate on budgets, program design, and reporting requirements. Prepare high-quality grant reports and maintain accurate documentation. Analyze outcomes and recommend improvements to grant processes.
DONOR MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS
(Approximately 50%) Alongside leadership and development staff, support the development and execution of donor engagement strategies, including cultivation, stewardship, and retention efforts. Assist in building meaningful, long-term donor relationships. Maintain and manage donor databases (CRM), ensuring accurate entry, segmentation, tracking, and reporting of donor activity. Optimize systems for efficiency and usability. Provide administrative support for fundraising efforts, including gift processing, acknowledgments, reporting, and donor communications. Ensure timely and accurate documentation. Assist in planning and execution of fundraising and donor engagement events, including logistics, communications, and follow-up. Support the implementation of annual giving campaigns and other fundraising initiatives through coordination, tracking, and communication efforts.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a professional liaison representing organizational values in all interactions. Provide exceptional work performance through clear, consistent, and professional communication. Build strong, trust-based relationships. Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow, timely deliverables, and alignment with organization goals and objectives. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and strategies across both grants and donor management functions. Maintain confidential, organized records and adhere to ethical standards and organizational policies. Remain current on best practices in fundraising, grant management, and donor engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of grant writing and/or fundraising experience Experience with donor CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc.) Strong writing, editing, and communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Strong attention to detail and data accuracy Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and client-centered approach
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
