What You'll Do:
The Grants Associate is responsible for performing due diligence and ensuring the timely approval and payment of domestic and international grants recommended by NPT's donors. This is accomplished through researching and validating grantees and grants, reporting on grants made through the various databases, and ensuring that we are compliant in our grant-making practices. The Grants Associate will be assigned grants daily and must accurately track the status of their pending grants.
Salary:
$55,000 plus 8.4% annual discretionary bonus. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply; compensation based on experience and internal equity. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence Tuesday-Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform due diligence on grants (domestic and international) recommended by NPT's donors, ensuring compliance with NPT's and the IRS's requirements. Conduct grant research using various online search tools and databases Perform outreach to charities, donors and/or their Financial Services teams on grant due diligence inquiries Prepare grants for approval and take action on any that require additional information or clarification Run and analyze grant reports as needed to track various grant metrics Obtain and validate grantee information for payment disbursement (mailing addresses, banking information, etc.) Answer telephone / email questions from internal and external constituents regarding grants Print and prepare weekly grant checks for mailing to respective charities as needed Support the Grants Team, as needed The above list is not exhaustive, additional tasks may be assigned as necessary but are not a major function of the position. What You Bring Detail oriented with very strong organizational and time management skills Capable of multi-tasking, and keeping others well-informed Excellent verbal, writing, grammar and proofreading skills Competent and friendly telephone demeanor Highly proficient in Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel Skilled problem-solver Self-motivated, possess high sense of initiative Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Experienced with database or processing work General knowledge and interest of philanthropy and charitable matters Success in being a contributing member of a team Success in meeting deadline
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience At least two years' experience in a nonprofit or financial service setting Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
