The HEF was established with an investment of $5 million from the City of Richmond's federal American Rescue Plan local relief funds and has run application and funding cycles since 2023. The Grants Coordinator's work will focus primarily on the HEF, but may expand to additional RHPHF grant programs in the future. The Grants Manager will work with the Interim Managing Director, the Foundation's Board of Directors, the City's public health district staff, and a host of community partners and health equity leaders to help support HEF partners during application and funding cycles. Applications will close at 5pm on June 30th, 2026. Specific duties of the Grants Coordinator will include:
Grantmaking Administration:
Work closely with the Managing Director and the Board to facilitate application and funding cycles. Work with the Managing Director to coordinate regular meetings of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), preparing agendas in coordination with health district staff, and cultivating collaborative relationships with CAC members. Other duties as assigned from the RHPHF Board and Managing Director. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building for
Partners:
Provide direct technical assistance to applicants throughout application process Conduct application workshops, office hours, and one-on-one consultations Develop TA resources including guides, templates, and training materials Assess grantee capacity-building needs and coordinate specialized support Facilitate peer learning opportunities among funded partners Support grantees in data collection, evaluation, and reporting Connect organizations to capacity-building resources and service providers An ideal Grants Manager will: Be willing to collaborate with with foundation staff and partners Propose and advocate for new ideas that advance the Foundation's mission Understand Richmond's health disparities, their root causes, and an emerging evidence base for how they can be addressed. Have a background and/or degree and/or training in Public Health, nonprofit management, public administration or similar. Be deeply passionate about health equity with demonstrated experience building programs that impact disparities and elevate community-driven solutions. Have strong and adaptive administrative skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, nonprofit management, or related field (Master's preferred) Minimum 3-5 years experience in grantmaking, program management, or nonprofit capacity building Demonstrated experience working with community-based organizations, particularly grassroots and emerging organizations Strong understanding of health equity and social determinants of health Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in grants management systems and databases Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-centered approaches About the

The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $64,000 with exact salary depending on experience and skills.
