Grants Management Coordinator Work Location:
509 South East Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756

•If you are passionate about protecting air resources, enjoy a variety of work projects, and bring expertise in grants management, this may be the perfect opportunity for you to join a stellar group of Environmental Professionals as the air quality section's grant manager with Pinellas County's Division of Environmental Management (DEM). The Air Quality Division's Technical Project Coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and compliance of federally and state-funded projects. This role ensures that all grant and contract activities align with regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and funder expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing complex funding streams and technical deliverables. The program operates under the authority of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of Florida to ensure compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards established under the Clean Air Act. What Would You Do? Coordinate and monitor technical projects funded by federal grants and state contracts from initiation to closeout. Ensure compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance), state procurement laws, and agency-specific regulations. Maintain documentation for audits and performance reviews. Serve as liaison with government agencies, funders, and internal stakeholders during budget development, expenditure tracking and financial report preparation. Prepare and submit grant applications, amendments, and progress reports. Develop and maintain dashboards and tracking systems for deliverables, timelines, and budget allocations. Provide guidance regarding grant compliance and reporting procedures. Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by Environmental Division Manager. Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. What Do You Need To Have?
Education/Experience:
Eight (8) years of technical and professional level experience in the assigned subject matter area of responsibility that includes one (1) year of lead worker or supervisory training; or Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, information technology, economics, health science, math, chemistry, physics, or subject directly related to the specialized assignments and four (4) years of experience as described above; or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience as described above; An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Preferred Experience A minimum of one to two years managing federal or state-funded grants Experience with grant platforms (e.g., Grants.gov, SAM.gov, GrantSolutions.gov) Familiarity with contract negotiation and procurement processes Experience coordinating with legal, finance, and compliance teams Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations (e.g., 2 CFR Part 200) Proficiency in project management tools Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Certifications/training courses from nationally recognized professional grants associations Preferred Attributes Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Collaborative spirit with a knack for cross-functional coordination Attention to detail Want To Learn More?
