Compensation:
$95,000•$115,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
Overview:
A mission-driven organization with a global footprint is seeking a Grants Accounting Manager to lead its grants accounting function. This position oversees a team of three and plays a critical role in managing the full lifecycle of federal and privately funded programs within a complex, multi-entity environment. Reporting directly to a highly respected and supportive CFO, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative, non-micromanaged environment and is passionate about compliance, process improvement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full lifecycle of grants and contracts, including supervision of staff and workflow management Prepare and review federal and private grant budgets in collaboration with program teams, including international field offices Partner with leadership on organizational budgeting and forecasting initiatives Provide regular variance analysis and financial guidance to program managers Ensure timely and accurate preparation of federal reports (e.g., SF-270, SF-425) and monthly invoicing Manage grant drawdowns and maintain federal revenue schedules Lead compliance efforts related to single audits and federal grant regulations (OMB A-122, A-133, and 2 CFR Part 200) Oversee indirect cost calculations, fringe allocations, and cost share tracking Perform financial reporting and analysis, including budget-to-actuals Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between accounting, program, and finance teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive grants accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility Strong expertise in federal grant compliance, including OMB A-122, A-133, and 2 CFR Part 200 Experience managing large, complex, multi-million-dollar grants Demonstrated experience with grant budgeting, cost accounting, and financial reporting Prior experience in nonprofit or government-funded environments highly preferred ERP experience preferred (any system; Microsoft Business Central a plus) Proven ability to interact with cross-functional teams and support program operations IND4
