Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin. Contingent upon Funding Job Description Reports to: Deputy Superintendent of Academics The Director of Assessments, MTSS, and Grant Support is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of district state and national assessment systems, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and grant development and management. This role ensures alignment across assessment practices, intervention frameworks, and funding strategies to support improved student outcomes. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation of district-wide state and national assessment systems Support schools in implementing and refining standardized assessment processes Analyze and interpret assessment data to inform MTSS processes Support schools in implementing and refining MTSS frameworks Develop systems for progress monitoring and data-driven intervention planning Collaborate with school and district leaders to align assessment and intervention practices Identify, write, and manage grants to support district priorities Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting expectations Provide professional learning and technical support related to assessments, MTSS, and grants Solicit, facilitate and manage grant applications in conjunction with appropriate Central Office and School personnel Collaborate with central office teams to align initiatives and maximize impact. Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of assessment literacy and data systems Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and intervention strategies Experience with grant writing and grant funds management Ability to work collaboratively across departments Effective communication and problem-solving skills Required Qualifications Rhode Island Building-Level Administrator Certification (or equivalent) Master's degree from an accredited institution; doctorate preferred Minimum of five years of experience in public education Demonstrated experience with assessment systems, MTSS implementation, and/or grant management Strong data analysis and communication skills An Equal Opportunity Employer EEO Statement Providence Public Schools is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that is actively seeking to increase minority recruitment among its administrators and teaching staff.
