Job Description

Charleston Animal Society is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Grants Administrator to manage the full lifecycle of grant funding opportunities, including research, proposal development, submission, reporting, and stewardship. This role will help secure funding for existing and emerging programs through private, corporate, local, state, and federal grant opportunities. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong writing, organizational, and relationship-building skills who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Duties & Responsibilities Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities. Develop, write, and submit grant proposals and applications. Manage and steward a grant portfolio valued between $2-$3 million annually. Maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, and funding partners. Coordinate with leadership, finance, and program teams to gather information for proposals, budgets, and reporting. Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and award activity. Maintain accurate records in GrantFrog and other organizational databases. Prepare grant reports and communicate outcomes, successes, and challenges to funders. Support organizational initiatives through planning, collaboration, training, and occasional statewide travel. Assist with maintaining organizational profiles and compliance requirements, including Candid, Charity Navigator, and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) reporting. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 5 years of grant writing and grant management experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. Strong written communication, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with GrantFrog and Raiser's Edge preferred. Interest in nonprofit, animal welfare, or mission-driven work preferred.

From $53,000.00 per year
