Director of Resource Development Communities In Schools - Bay Area Houston, TX Job Details Full-time From $64,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Paid time off 403(b) Qualifications Strategic management Major gifts Research Bachelor's degree Calendar management Strategic partnerships Full Job Description Overview The Director of Resource Development serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and growth of Communities In Schools - Bay Area (CISBA). This role places a strong emphasis on grant management and institutional funding, ensuring the organization secures and sustains investments that support school-based programming across Clear Creek ISD and Dickinson ISD. The Director also leads efforts in individual and corporate giving, working to diversify revenue streams. Responsibilities Grant Management & Institutional Funding (Primary Focus) Lead the organization's grant strategy, securing funding from foundations, corporations, to support programming across Manage the full grant lifecycle, including research, proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance Write compelling, data-driven proposals that clearly communicate CISBA's school-based model and student impact Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar to ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are met Collaborate closely with program staff to gather outcomes, student stories, and data for proposals and reports Steward relationships with funders to ensure continued investment and long-term partnerships Tailor proposals to reflect CISBA's innovative programming, including the GROW Mentoring Program and College & Career Readiness Initiative Individual Giving Develop and implement strategies to grow individual donor support, including annual giving and major gifts Lead and expand the organization's monthly giving program, Champions of Change, connecting donors directly to student impact Partner with the Executive Director and Board to cultivate and steward key donor relationships Oversee donor communications, acknowledgments, and impact reporting to ensure a high level of stewardship Corporate Giving Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate giving strategy, including grants, and employee engagement programs Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships aligned with organizational priorities Manage a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects, ensuring consistent engagement Create customized partnership proposals Leverage board and leadership networks to expand corporate engagement opportunities Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 2-3 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a strong emphasis on grant writing and management Proven success securing foundation, corporate, and/or government funding Experience managing multiple revenue streams, including individual and corporate giving Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate student impact into compelling narratives Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Experience with CRM systems Core Competencies Relationship building and donor stewardship Strong written and verbal communication Attention to detail and grant compliance Collaborative, team-oriented approach Ability and willingness to travel locally and occasionally out of the area for professional development, trainings, conferences, and partner engagement opportunities Occasional evening or weekend availability to support events, donor engagement, and community initiatives Preferred Attributes Experience in education, youth development, or school-based nonprofit programs Passion for supporting at-risk and economically disadvantaged students Ability to represent CISBA as a compelling ambassador to funders and partners Please visit www.cisba.org/employment for complete job description.
