DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the management of proposals and maintaining funding database. Ensuring that grant files are complete and in compliance with programmatic and fund management requirements of funding source. Performs administration work involving preparing, maintaining, and reporting of grants; monitoring grant awards; and serving as a liaison between program staff and grant's department.
SUPERVISION
Directly supervised Grants Manager.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires standard amounts of standing and sitting; may require moving/carrying up to 25 pounds. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephone and copiers. Requires work outside the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of grant and fund records, grant applications, compliance of funded proposals, progress reports and correspondence to funders. Identify grant funding opportunities. Assists with writing, submitting and managing grant proposal narratives, applications and supporting documents. Maintain proficient knowledge of Center's history and programs. Work with Directors/Managers to compile financials and data. Develop and maintain a grant-tracking and report management system. Develops reporting systems to assure Gateway's ability to meet grant reporting requirements. Provides technical assistance to program Directors/Managers in the preparation of reports. Prepares work plans and timelines to ensure submission of state or federal program reports in a timely manner. Maintains files and records and prepares reports related to grants issued and or received. Assist director to organize and conduct Center and staff training as required by administration. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, public health or related field. Master's degree in a related field is preferred. Two years of work experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work independently and in a team environment; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to gather information and analyze data; Ability to professionally and accurately represent the Center, its mission, philosophy and services; Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher and Power Point); Must be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions; Must be able to travel in-town and out-of-town.
