San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time $68,000 - $88,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Research Corporate giving fundraising Driver's License Bachelor's degree Non-profit experience Foundation giving Full Job Description SUMMARY The Grants Manager is responsible for leading Haven for Hope's private grant funding strategy through research, development, writing, submission, management, and stewardship of grant opportunities. This position focuses on securing support from foundations, corporations, family foundations, community foundations, and other philanthropic partners while ensuring compliance with funding requirements. The Grants Manager partners with leadership and program teams to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and contribute to the growth of a comprehensive development program that advances Haven for Hope's mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, research, and evaluate private grant funding opportunities, including foundation, corporate, family foundation, community foundation, and philanthropic funding sources. Obtain and maintain grant guidelines, funding requirements, deadlines, contact information, and trustee information. Collaborate with internal departments, leadership, and community partners to develop competitive grant proposals and applications aligned with organizational priorities. Prepare, write, submit, and manage proposals for new and continuation private grant funding opportunities. Develop and maintain grant management systems to track prospect research, proposal submissions, awards, grant reporting requirements, and funding outcomes. Prepare and submit all required grant reports, including interim, annual, and final reports. Monitor grant compliance requirements and ensure all reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate internal and external communications regarding grant opportunities, submissions, awards, and outcomes. Maintain and strengthen relationships with funders through strategic stewardship and ongoing communication. Work collaboratively with program and leadership teams to identify emerging funding priorities and opportunities. Support donor cultivation and stewardship activities through acknowledgements, recognition efforts, and relationship-building initiatives. Assist with development events, donor engagement activities, and organizational initiatives as needed. Work closely with the Chief Development Officer and Board Development Committee to help achieve departmental goals and fundraising objectives. Prepare reports, performance metrics, and analysis related to grants activity and funding pipeline progress. Support broader development initiatives including donor communications, strategic planning efforts, and database management. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of Haven for Hope's mission, strategic priorities, and development objectives.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, public administration, English, or related field. Master's degree or advanced professional certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, grants management, and fund development. Demonstrated success researching, writing, securing, and managing private grant funding opportunities. Experience with foundations, corporate giving programs, and philanthropic funding sources. Experience with donor databases (Salesforce) and grants management systems preferred. Experience in a nonprofit environment required; human services or social services experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Strong grant writing, editing, and project management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Ability to analyze program, financial, and outcome data and communicate impact effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and fundraising systems. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work occasional evenings and weekends.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, reliable transportation, and appropriate automobile insurance for work-related travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is generally moderate and may require occasional evening or weekend work for events, tours, and organizational activities. Haven for Hope supports a collaborative and mission-driven work environment. This position is primarily campus-based; however, a potential hybrid work arrangement may be considered based on organizational needs, job responsibilities, performance, and supervisor approval.
