Summary:

Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type of product, and value of materials, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. Also compiles and maintains records of business transactions and office activities of establishment, performing a variety of following or similar clerical duties and utilizing knowledge of systems or procedures.

Essential Functions:

Examines documents for incoming/outgoing shipments, records shortages/overages, and corresponds with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, order, or other records. Routes items to departments. Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Copies data and compiles records and reports. Tabulates and posts data in record books, spreadsheets, or various types of accounting packages. Records orders for merchandise or service. Counts and verifies material, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using a computer. Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices/orders to obtain current inventory. Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance. Prepare reports, such as inventory balance or lot reports. Prepare daily production job packets. Posts Production Reports. Schedules receiving appointments with carriers. Operates office machines, such as phone systems, computers, copiers fax, adding, and labeling machines. Must have organizational skills. Move material using a forklift

Education and Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older. High School graduate or equivalent. Basic Excel Experience. Basic Accounting Experience. Forklift experience desired. If no experience, must be willing to learn.

Physical Work Requirements/Environment:

Sit/Stand/Walk:

Approximately 50% of the time is spent standing and walking around work area and the remaining 50% is spent sitting.

Speaking/Hearing:

Able to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

Vision:

Able to effectively interpret printed materials and differentiate various products packed.

Lifting/Carrying:

Able to lift, carry, and hold up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive motion.

Stooping/Kneeling:

Able to stoop and/or kneel to access equipment when needed.

Reaching/Handling:

Able to retrieve and work with appropriate equipment and supplies. Requires use of stairs, ladders, catwalks, and walking on uneven surfaces May require working at heights, at times with use of fall protection. Requires working around confined spaces. Work area is in an environment with varied moderate temperatures and areas of excessive noise. Position involves exposure to odors, dust, rice by-products, food grade chemicals, and mosquitoes. Requires use of provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect from injury or exposure. Involves indoor and outdoor work, in all types of weather.
