Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring all customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. The Shipping Specialist I protects products from damage and deterioration during handling, storage, packaging, and delivery while maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pack and box outgoing customer orders; verify accuracy and completeness against packing lists. Create and process shipments using approved shipping software. Receive and stock incoming inventory from Kitting, rotating stock as needed using FIFO policies. Perform data entry to maintain accurate and current inventory locations. Assist with cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy. Support the Kitting and Manufacturing departments as needed. Maximize warehouse storage utilization and maintain inventory integrity. Keep warehouse clean and orderly following 5S principles. Identify and remove items where packaging or product integrity is in question. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Accountabilities Daily:
Process orders according to the dispatch list. Print and apply shipping labels ensuring they remain legible during transit. Protect products prior to and during shipment to prevent damage. Ensure packaging meets Kodo Kids quality standards. Accept and store materials per FIFO inventory management. Load and unload carrier trucks for deliveries and pick-ups. Foster a culture of teamwork, organization, safety, and collaboration.

Monitor shipping supply levels and communicate replenishment needs.

Encountered regularly as part of the work this job performs. Regular use of office and warehouse equipment (computer, pallet jack, ladder, phone, copier). Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Visual acuity including close, distance, and color vision. Moderate to loud noise levels at times.
Skills/Knowledge:
Education:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience in a general warehouse environment. Inventory control experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and solve problems effectively. Working knowledge of standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Email). Familiarity with inventory management systems preferred.

Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Team-oriented, proactive, and safety-focused. Demonstrates pride in accuracy and quality workmanship.
