Job Description

Inventory Assistant Department:
Operations Reports to: Hub Supervisor / Hub Manager Salary - $19 per hour Working from 10am to around 5pm, Sunday to Thursday Modern Milkman started as a single milkround. Today, we're a global platform helping hundreds of thousands of households run their homes more simply - and more sustainably. From doorstep deliveries to reducing waste and supporting local producers, we make doing the right thing the easiest option. No extra effort, no extra trips, just everyday decisions that add up to real impact. The Role You'll be the extra pair of hands (and eyes) that keep the hub humming. As an Inventory Assistant, your primary focus is efficiently and effectively staging orders for next-day deliveries. You'll also work closely with the Hub Supervisor to ensure inventory levels are maintained without compromising on quality. Whether you're unloading stock, logging waste, or keeping our storage zones spotless, you don't mind getting stuck in. You are organized by nature and understand that the little things—like precise labeling and strict cleanliness—make a massive difference in our daily success.
What You'll Be Responsible For Efficient Staging:
Helping stage customer orders and labeling products accurately (including initial picks and adjustments) with speed and precision.
Inventory & Quality Control:
Assisting the Hub Supervisor in ensuring the hub is always stocked with enough product, while rigorously checking that all inventory meets our high quality standards.
Zone Cleanliness:
Keeping all staging and storage areas— ambient, chiller, and freezer —immaculately clean, tidy, and organized.
Inbound Logistics:
Assisting with unloading incoming deliveries, checking them for accuracy/quality, and restocking shelves.
Hub Maintenance:
Supporting daily cleaning tasks, equipment checks, and logging waste accurately. Our Expectations To keep the hub running like a well-oiled machine, we expect all team members to hold themselves to the following standards:
The Metrics That Matter Pick Accuracy:
Above 99.25%
Pick Efficiency:
Above 95%
Cleanliness:
0 missed cleaning checks per week across all staging areas
The Bottom Line:
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role for someone who loves order, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in being the quiet hero of the hub.
