Job Description
The Habitat Associate supports the daily operations of the Habitat ReStore and warehouse by assisting customers and donors, processing sales, organizing inventory, receiving donations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This is an all-purpose position that requires flexibility and willingness to assist in various areas of operations as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to shoppers, donors, volunteers, and community members Operate POS (Point of Sale) system and process transactions accurately Utilize basic computer skills for sales, inventory, scheduling, and communication tasks Assist with pricing, stocking, merchandising, and organizing inventory Receive, unload, inspect, and move donated items safely Assist with warehouse organization and inventory management Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely as needed Load and unload furniture, appliances, and building materials Assist with donation pickups and deliveries Drive box trucks or company vehicles when assigned Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the store, warehouse, and donation areas Support opening and closing procedures Assist in any additional duties needed to support daily operations and Habitat's mission Qualifications Retail and customer service experience preferred Basic computer skills required POS system knowledge preferred Warehouse or inventory experience preferred Forklift experience preferred Truck driving and delivery experience preferred Construction or home improvement experience a plus Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items frequently Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in warehouse conditions as needed Preferred Skills Knowledge of furniture, appliances, home improvement materials, or retail sales Experience working with volunteers and the public Basic problem-solving and multitasking skills Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30
