Inventory Associate
Job Title:
Inventory AssociateJob DescriptionThe Inventory Associate works in the returns department to process returned goods, maintain accurate inventory records, and support overall warehouse operations. This role prepares and stages orders, ensures inventory accuracy through data entry and physical counts, and contributes to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Process product returns in the returns department, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of materials
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders, pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing completed orders in the designated delivery area
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, and recording quantities of materials or items received or distributed using a computer system
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and updating inventory records
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving products within the warehouse
  • Operate basic shop tools and equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures
  • Use a forklift and other material handling equipment as needed to move and organize inventory
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient operation
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks and in designated storage areas to maintain an orderly warehouse layout
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry related to inventory, orders, shipping, and receiving activities
  • Provide general clerical support related to inventory and warehouse documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with team members across departments, including shipping, assembly, and warehouse, to support overall operational needs
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor to support warehouse and inventory operations
  • Sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds as required by daily tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in a warehouse or inventory control environment
  • Knowledge of inventory control and inventory management processes
  • Ability to perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory
  • Material handling experience, including moving, organizing, and staging products
  • Basic understanding of shipping and receiving procedures
  • Proficiency with data entry for recording inventory and order information in a computer system
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and basic shop tools and equipment
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds infrequently
  • High School diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP or similar inventory management software
  • Experience in clerical tasks related to warehouse or inventory operations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording inventory data
  • Ability to work collaboratively and assist across multiple departments such as shipping, assembly, and warehouse
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
