Summer Inventory Worker Position 2026 $17.84/hour Position Purpose This position provides hands-on support to the business services office conducting the annual physical inventory of all Fargo Public Schools district assets and equipment. Responsibilities Examples of this work include: Individual will use handheld devices to scan the barcode assigned to district assets and equipment for each building. Physical inventory from rooms may need to be counted if no barcode is available Individual should be able to take directions and ask questions when needed. Individual will work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications Minimum age 16-years prior to start date. Certain roles may require candidates to be age 18-years or older due to safety regulations. Must be able to self-transport to different district locations within Fargo-Moorhead metro area.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Demonstrated ability to take initiative to complete tasks. Strong attention to detail. Comfort utilizing handheld technology.
Relationships This position reports to:
Director of Accounting Internal and External Clientele and Purpose of Contact Personal contact with students, parents/guardians, and staff is rare. Contact is predominantly limited to other seasonal summer temps, the Business Services Purchasing Supervisor, the Director of Accounting and warehouse staff. Problem Solving The incumbent takes initiative to ensure completion of all tasks and must be committed to accuracy. Freedom to Act Decision(s) Position Makes and Decision(s) Referred to Higher Authority The incumbent performs tasks under the direction of the Director of Accounting. All questions and issues are referred to the Director of Accounting. All employees must comply with department and institution procedures and policies, Fargo Public School policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and business and industry standards.
