Job Description:
The Inventory Agent is a vital member of the retail operations team responsible for ensuring all cannabis inventory is received, stored, handled, and restocked in a fully compliant and efficient manner. This role supports both the adult-use and medical sales floors by maintaining accurate product levels and ensuring proper documentation, labeling, and product availability at all times. The Inventory Agent also assists in maintaining compliance within METRC and POS systems (such as Dutchie), performs audits, supports floor restocks, and ensures accurate product representation across in-store and online menus. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with Retail Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and fellow Inventory Team Members.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Inventory Management & Compliance Receive, reconcile, and process wholesale and internal deliveries; upload all corresponding documents, including manifests and invoices. Ensure all products are stored, labeled, and organized in accordance with cannabis regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance laws regarding packaging, testing, labeling, and storage. Create and manage products in POS and METRC, including updating product masters and ensuring label compliance. Destroy unusable product and follow proper chain-of-custody documentation. Conduct and report routine physical and digital inventory audits; reconcile discrepancies in real-time. Ensure proper product tag placement and storage practices within the packaging room, vault, and retail floor. Prioritize inventory flow using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methodology. Print and apply compliant labels for all product types (flower, edibles, vapes, etc.). Maintain the security, quality, and integrity of all cannabis products. Retail Floor Support Ensure floor stock is consistently filled with "Ready for Sale" product for both AU and Medical menus. Restock sales floor inventory in accordance with par level sheets and compliance guidelines. Monitor product sell-through and advise on inventory prioritization for high-volume items. Communicate inventory needs, new product availability, and restock alerts to Inventory Manager and ASMs. Ensure menu accuracy across in-store digital displays and online platforms by updating POS product masters. Documentation & Process Improvement Upload and organize compliance documents into the corporate drive (invoices, transfer logs, etc.). Monitor documentation practices and provide feedback to the Inventory Manager. Identify and suggest improvements to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and support safety protocols. Assist with audits and complete audit reports on schedule. Cross-Functional Duties Ability to be cross-trained in inventory receiving, processing, or destruction roles as needed. Support vault room inventory organization and movement. Follow all directives from the Inventory Manager, Retail Managers, and ASMs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
32-40 hours per week, full-time availability required, including weekends and evenings as needed. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and pull up to 150 lbs. Strong physical capability to perform repetitive motions: sitting, standing, stooping, walking, reaching, twisting, etc. Must be 21+ and eligible to obtain a New Jersey Agent Registration Card. Completion of METRC industry training. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with METRC and Dutchie POS. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to read and interpret legal documentation and compliance policies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in cannabis, inventory control, quality assurance, or a regulated industry is highly preferred.
