Shipping and Receiving Worker Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of inventory and shipment processes. Responsibilities Receive, unload, and store incoming inventory items following company protocols and procedures. Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure product accuracy and integrity. Operate shipping equipment and systems to safely transport and verify materials in the warehouse. Locate and gather products for distribution to production workers, assembly lines, or shipping areas. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. Assist in inventory management, including tracking and updating inventory records. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow and meet production goals. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of shipping and receiving experience. Knowledge of inventory and cycle counting. Experience with material handling. Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management. Knowledge of shipping equipment and shipping systems. Understanding of safety standards and protocols in a warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2 or more years of experience is strongly preferred. Forklift operation and order pulling experience. Why Work Here? Candidates will report to either the Orangeburg site or the West Nyack site, both located in close proximity. The facility operates on three shifts with openings across all shifts, offering a rotating weekend schedule to ensure work-life balance. The work environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orangeburg, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
