Job Title:
Inventory Control Driver Job Description The Inventory Control Driver safely transports materials and supplies between buildings on a designated site while maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation. This role combines driving, material handling, inventory control, and clerical support to ensure that goods move efficiently and are tracked in compliance with established procedures. Responsibilities Safely drive a designated company van to transport materials and supplies between various assigned areas and designated buildings within the site. Follow all safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures while performing driving and material handling tasks. Continuously monitor for at-risk behaviors in self and others and take action to stop unsafe practices. Scan barcodes on packages for delivery and pickup using RF scanners or similar devices. Receive, unpack, and deliver goods to the appropriate locations in a timely and accurate manner. Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, including performing regular physical counts of inventory. Re-stock items as necessary and label shelves clearly to support efficient inventory management. Record and process purchase orders as required, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. Process and/or approve invoices for payment in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate signature logs for assigned areas, documenting all pickups and deliveries. Track orders, investigate discrepancies or problems, and resolve issues related to inventory, deliveries, or documentation. Process and document returns following established procedures to ensure proper tracking and accountability. Perform routine clerical duties such as data entry, answering telephones, and assisting internal customers. Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, leads, supervisors, managers, and customers, including using radios or walkie-talkies when needed. Follow directions from supervision and respond promptly and appropriately to guidance and feedback. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling practices at all times. Essential Skills Ability to safely operate and drive a company van for on-site transportation of materials and supplies. Strong focus on safety, including adherence to safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures. Clean driving record suitable for operating company vehicles. Experience or strong aptitude in inventory control, including tracking, counting, and maintaining stock levels. Proficiency with RF scanners or barcode scanning devices for tracking packages and inventory. Ability to perform data entry accurately for inventory records, purchase orders, and invoices. Basic clerical skills, including handling purchase orders, invoice entry, and documentation. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and customers. Customer service-oriented demeanor, with a helpful and professional approach. Willingness to submit to a drug screen as part of the hiring process. Ability to use personal protective equipment and follow safe material handling practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous material handling experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment. Previous driver or transportation experience, especially in a site-based or campus setting. Previous inventory experience, including physical counts, restocking, and inventory reconciliation. Hands-on experience with RF scanners for scanning barcodes on packages and inventory items. Familiarity with purchase order processing and invoice entry. Experience providing clerical support such as answering phones, assisting customers, and maintaining logs. Ability to use communication tools such as radios or walkie-talkies in a fast-paced operational environment. Why Work Here? You will regularly use a company van, RF scanners, communication devices such as radios or walkie-talkies, and standard office equipment for clerical tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate for handling materials and working in a regulated manufacturing and laboratory-support setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bend, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
