Job Description

The Receiving Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of incoming inventory and supplies while maintaining warehouse organization, inventory integrity, and efficient material flow. This role works closely with Purchasing, Quality Control, Accounting, Shipping, and Inventory Management to ensure inventory is properly received, tracked, and stored. Primary Responsibilities Accurately receive and record all incoming inventory and supplies in the ERP system within established timeframes. Verify incoming quantities and documentation to ensure receipt accuracy. Inspect incoming products for quality concerns as required and collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve issues. Identify and document any visible shipping damage, notify Purchasing, and provide supporting photographs. Ensure Accounting receives accurate receiving data by verifying packing slips against ERP records and clearly communicating any discrepancies. Maintain warehouse organization by properly labeling and storing inventory in designated locations. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly to maintain inventory accuracy. Perform cycle counts in accordance with established inventory control procedures. Provide regular updates to the Inventory Manager regarding receiving activities, inventory accuracy, and warehouse organization. Partner with the Shipping team to maximize warehouse space utilization while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory control, warehouse organization, and receiving processes. Backup & Cross-Functional Responsibilities Monitor and fulfill material movement requests throughout the warehouse, including job picks and replenishment of inventory locations from overstock. Assist with researching and resolving inventory discrepancies discovered through cycle counts, system reviews, or day-to-day operations. Conduct additional inventory counts and location searches as needed to identify and correct variances. Review inventory records for negative on-hand balances, transaction anomalies, and other inventory accuracy issues, taking corrective action or escalating concerns when appropriate. Support overall warehouse operations as needed to maintain workflow efficiency and inventory accuracy.
