Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Prepare parts for shipment per customer specifications
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates fork truck, tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Counting materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock.
- Reporting discrepancies between physical counts and computer records and computer records. Developing or improving upon inventory management procedures
- Stocking and distributing supplies, equipment or merchandise. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles changes, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
- Should have knowledge of Epicor software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software is required.
Required:
Minimum 2 years' experience in Import/Export International Freight Logistics experience. Common Carrier Parcel Shipment methods.Forklift License Preferred:
Experience with Epicor or related MRP systems.
