Role:

The Route Settlement Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reconciliation of delivery routes within the organization. This position is responsible for verifying and processing daily sales, collections, and inventory data submitted by route drivers, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed. The Route Settlement Clerk collaborates closely with suppliers to maintain transparent and efficient settlement processes. By meticulously managing route settlements, this role supports the company's financial integrity and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Route Settlement Clerk contributes to the smooth functioning of distribution operations by ensuring that all route-related financial activities are settled correctly and on schedule. Additional back office support functions may include customer inquiries, report filings, accounts receivable among other tasks. The position will be located at the Murfreesboro, TN office of Murfreesboro Pure Milk Co. The job will require a roughly 35+/- hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in accounting, or financial reconciliation, preferably in a logistics or distribution environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data entry and reporting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data. Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with route accounting software. Familiarity with inventory management and distribution operations. Ability to analyze financial data and generate meaningful reports. Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics or delivery environment.

Responsibilities:

Review and reconcile daily route sales and inventory reports submitted by delivery drivers. Identify and investigate discrepancies or variances in route settlements, coordinating with drivers and management to resolve issues. Prepare and process settlement documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Maintain accurate records of all route settlements and related financial transactions for auditing and reporting purposes. Communicate effectively with route personnel and internal departments to facilitate timely and accurate settlements. Assist in generating reports related to route performance, cash handling, and settlement accuracy. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on settlement processes and suggesting enhancements.
