This role works in close partnership with the Inventory and Procurement Manager to ensure inventory is received, stocked, tracked, and maintained accurately across all product lines. The Inventory Clerk is a hands-on, operational role responsible for day-to-day inventory activities, including shelving, receiving backordered items, maintaining organized storage areas, and supporting accurate inventory records. Key Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders, and report discrepancies Unpack, label, and stock inventory on shelves or in designated bin locations according to established procedures Receive and properly process backordered and replenishment items, ensuring timely placement into inventory Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records within inventory management systems Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and spot checks as directed by the Inventory and Procurement Manager Identify and promptly report damaged goods, shortages, or inconsistencies Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled shelving and storage areas Ensure inventory is stored safely and in compliance with company policies and safety standards Assist with internal inventory transfers and staging for fulfillment, events, or distribution Work closely with the Inventory and Procurement Manager to support inventory forecasts and replenishment needs Follow established SOPs for inventory handling, stocking, and documentation Support audit preparation and operational reporting as requested Assist with order fulfillment activities as needed, including picking, packing, labeling, staging orders, and preparing shipments for distribution. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in vendor and supplier relationship management. Familiarity with warehousing, shipping, and logistics processes. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards. At least 3 years of proven experience as an Inventory Clerk or similar role, preferably within a distribution, retail, printing, or publishing environment. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, forecasting techniques, and supply chain best practices. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and accountability. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to lift heavy items and stock shelves Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven mindset.
