What to Expect
The Spares Technician plays a critical role in managing spare parts inventory to support the seamless operation and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery at Tesla. This position focuses on ensuring the availability of essential components to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking spare parts while maintaining precise inventory records. The Spares Technician collaborates with maintenance, production, and procurement teams to optimize inventory processes and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming spare parts against purchase orders and ensure proper storage in designated locations
Issue spare parts to maintenance and production teams with accurate documentation and part identification
Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to reconcile stock levels and report discrepancies or damaged items
Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools
Assist in identifying reorder points and generating purchase requisitions for critical or low-stock spares
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe storage area while adhering to safety regulations and operating material handling equipment as needed
Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and procurement teams to support continuous improvement in spares management What You'll Bring
Minimum of 2 years of experience in spare parts inventory, warehouse, or logistics roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting Proficiency with CMMS or ERP systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle for inventory management Strong computer skills for documentation and record-keeping tasks Familiarity with material handling equipment and safety protocols Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams in a dynamic environment Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory tracking and reporting
Command of the English language both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods Comfortable working in a warehouse or industrial environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels Operation of material handling equipment Compensation and Benefits
