Job Description

Role Summary:
Borga Steel is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is transaction-heavy and requires strict adherence to established workflows to complete all daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and production transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production, and ensuring smooth operations across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, track, and close work tickets to ensure accurate reporting of material usage and production activities.
  • Record transactions to account for scrap material.
  • Administer regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Complete physical count transaction entries in the ERP system.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, stock variances, and reporting errors.
  • Resolve negative quantity part numbers on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Production teams to ensure timely material availability for manufacturing schedules.
  • Process Purchase Order receipt transactions for goods and services.
  • Coordinate and complete return transactions of goods to suppliers with Purchasing.
  • Record system transactions to accurately recognize the slitting of master coils into specific coil widths.
  • Record transactions for the receipt and production of flat sheets used in manufacturing.
  • Create and close make-to-stock work tickets to recognize the creation of stock parts.
  • Manage steel coil traceability by assigning and tracking coil identification numbers within the ERP system.
  • Generate and print coil tags containing critical information such as lot number, color, gauge, length, and heat number.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain Coil Mill Certificates to ensure material compliance and accessibility for quality and production requirements.
  • Maintain the Coil Inventory Valuation Report.
  • Manage inventory movements between warehouse locations, off-site storage, and materials processing centers.
  • Create and maintain CSV files used by the production team to program punch locations and specifications for the purlin production line.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of part numbers and bills of material.
  • Prepare and complete monthly reports on building project manufacturing status.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory processes, materials handling, and reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of inventory control, production operations, and overall facility objectives
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage inventory transactions, monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Experience in Sage 100 ERP Software is a plus, but not required.
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
