Job Description

Job Summary The VMI Tech is responsible for servicing and optimizing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs at customer locations. This role ensures product availability, maintains inventory accuracy, increases SKU penetration, and supports gross profit growth across assigned accounts. The VMI Tech services accounts but does not own revenue. Success in this role is measured by operational efficiency, account productivity, and contribution to overall gross profit performance. Primary Responsibilities Inventory Management Replenish bins, vending machines, and on-site stock Maintain accurate min/max inventory levels Prevent stock-outs and emergency freight Remove obsolete or slow-moving inventory Maintain clean and organized customer inventory areas Operational Efficiency Execute assigned routes efficiently and safely Maintain productivity standards for stops per day Manage schedule to maximize service coverage Ensure accurate product scanning and ERP updates Account Support & Growth Identify opportunities to expand product penetration Recommend SKU standardization and consolidation Communicate growth opportunities to Growth Account Managers (GAM) and Territory Growth Managers (TGM) Support pricing and margin discipline Reporting & Accountability Track GP per stop and route productivity Monitor account trends and flag declines Maintain accurate service documentation Participate in KPI reviews Requirements Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or MRO environments preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently in a field-based role Basic computer and ERP proficiency Mechanical aptitude and product familiarity preferred Valid driver's license and safe driving record Key Performance Metrics Gross Profit Supported per Day Gross Profit per Stop Stops per Day Inventory Accuracy Stock-Out Prevention Route Efficiency Margin Preservation Compensation Structure Competitive base salary Growth-based incentive tied to incremental gross profit improvements Quarterly performance review and incentive payout No incentive is paid for flat or declining account performance. What This Role Is Not Not a commissioned outside sales role Not a delivery-only position Not a clerical or warehouse-based position This is a field-based operational role that directly supports recurring revenue and margin growth.
