Job Description

Position Summary Blue Kangaroo Packoutz of Central Georgia is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to support our contents restoration operations. This position is responsible for accurately documenting, inventorying, tracking, packing, transporting, and maintaining customer belongings throughout the restoration process. The ideal candidate is meticulous, accountable, and comfortable working in both residential and commercial environments following water, fire, mold, and other property losses. The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining chain of custody for customer contents and ensuring inventory accuracy from packout through return delivery. Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management Create detailed inventories of customer contents using company software and mobile devices. Accurately document item descriptions, conditions, quantities, and locations. Photograph contents and maintain complete digital records. Label, barcode, and track items throughout the restoration process. Verify inventory accuracy during packout, storage, cleaning, and packback operations. Conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Packout and Packback Operations Carefully pack, wrap, and prepare customer belongings for transport. Load and unload contents while preventing damage. Organize contents within storage facilities and warehouses. Assist with packback and content reinstallation projects. Ensure customer items are returned to the correct location and condition. Documentation and Reporting Complete all required documentation accurately and timely. Maintain chain-of-custody records for customer belongings. Prepare reports and updates for management, customers, and insurance partners. Document exceptions, damages, and inventory variances immediately. Customer Service Interact professionally and respectfully with customers experiencing property losses. Explain inventory procedures and answer basic questions regarding contents handling. Represent Blue Kangaroo Packoutz professionally at all times. Safety and Compliance Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines. Properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain clean and organized workspaces, vehicles, and storage areas. Follow all company policies regarding confidentiality and handling of customer property. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to accurately record and track large volumes of information. Basic computer proficiency, including tablets and mobile applications. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass background screening and drug screening, if required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Preferred Experience with inventory management, logistics, warehousing, moving services, restoration, or contents handling. Experience working with inventory software, barcode systems, or restoration platforms. Familiarity with insurance restoration industry practices. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work in fast-paced and changing environments. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Ability to work in residential, commercial, warehouse, and storage environments. Ability to climb stairs and navigate areas affected by property damage. Customer contents are properly documented and accounted for at all times. Minimal inventory discrepancies or losses. Strong customer satisfaction and professional service delivery. Schedule:
Monday-Friday with occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities as needed
