Inventory Specialist Holoholo Charters - Port Allen, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi We are looking for a dependable, organized, and hands-on Inventory Specialist who values accuracy, accountability, and teamwork, and wants to play an important role in supporting safe, efficient operations behind the scenes. Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to support company operations through the organization, ordering, receiving, tracking, and storage of parts, tools, supplies, and operational inventory. This role works closely with the maintenance team, operations team, accounting, vendors, and leadership to help ensure the right parts and supplies are available when needed. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting purchase order processes, organizing storage areas, and helping keep the shop clean, safe, and efficient. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and proactive, and is comfortable working in a hands-on role with a wide range of responsibilities. This individual should be able to work independently, communicate clearly, manage details accurately, and take ownership of keeping inventory systems and work areas organized. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain inventory tracking and storage systems to support efficient inventory control Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, surplus, or supply needs Receive, inspect, restock, store, and organize vessel parts, tools, supplies, and operational materials Maintain a reasonable supply of mechanical spares and specialized tools for all vessels, as allowed by budget Maintain accurate purchase order records, including items, quantities, due dates, special instructions, terms, conditions, and receipt dates Build and maintain positive vendor relationships while researching new or alternative vendors when needed Compare supplier options to help ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions Support accounting and vendors in resolving order, invoice, or billing discrepancies Create reports related to inventory adjustments, stock levels, purchasing, and inventory activity Keep team members informed of inventory concerns, shortages, or delays Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop and storage areas Keep tools, parts, equipment, and supplies in clean and safe condition Follow company policies for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials Pick up parts, shipments, and supplies from various locations Complete errands and deliveries as needed Support and encourage a culture of accountability, organization, and teamwork Success in This Role Maintain accurate and organized inventory records, purchase orders, and stock information Keep parts, supplies, tools, and storage areas clean, organized, and easy to access Communicate clearly with team members, vendors, accounting, and leadership Identify supply needs early and help prevent delays caused by missing parts or materials Support maintenance and operations by ensuring needed items are available when needed Follow through on tasks, errands, orders, and inventory updates in a timely manner Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and sound judgment in daily work Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required, truck preferred Out-of-state driver's license holders must provide a driver's abstract upon hire Inventory control, warehouse, parts, or supply management experience preferred Forklift experience or certification preferred Experience with electronic inventory systems or physical count procedures preferred Proficiency in English, with the ability to understand verbal and written communication Comfortable using internet browsers and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records Must be trustworthy, reliable, responsible, accountable, and professional Must reply promptly to work-related texts or phone calls Ability to work approximately 35 to 40 hours per week Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, parts, and equipment Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with staff and vendors Must regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds Must frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds Benefits Medical insurance, including drug and vision coverage Dental insurance, optional Employee Assistance Program Paid volunteer program 401(k) plan with company match up to 4 percent Continuing education reimbursement Paid time off program Employee discount program Employee referral program Opportunities for professional development and advancement Collaborative and supportive work environment
