Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the smooth functioning of the department; interacts with customers to assure proper supplies and equipment are obtained and delivered, serves as lead person in area. Monitors computer systems to assure proper functioning and orders are placed. Performs duties in accordance with established department and Medical Center policies and procedures.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential:
seeing, hearing, and speaking.
Frequent:
standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, finger dexterity; lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying usual weight of 10 pounds; reaching at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
Occasional:
climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying weight up to 40 pounds; reaching above shoulder level. Operates pneumatic tube system, computer, copier, printer, patient care equipment, telephone, supply/exchange carts, and typewriter.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Minimal exposure to blood and body fluids.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of Central Service Technician course preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE
One (1) year recent central distribution experience to demonstrate familiarity with medical supplies/equipment. Prior customer service experience. Experience to demonstrate ability to operate automated inventory systems. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet Your Health.
