Videos Duties Help The Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist occupies a major position in the Supply Chain Management Service and is critical to the operions of the medical center and supported cchment areas. Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Lifecycle Management:
responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets; develops multi-year equipment/NX plans; utilizes advanced automed non-expendable planning tools; participes in stregic planning, quality management of the equipment program, equipment replacement planning on a progressive basis, integred with management budgetary plans and consistent with life expectancy of equipment; utilizes performance improvement methodologies to improve the overall management of NX assets; conducts analysis and uses intensive knowledge of NX assets to make recommendions about standardizion opportunities. Conducts da analysis regarding NX asset needs based on dispare da points including multiple factors which impact procurement decisions. Participes in VISN and facility stregic planning to support minor and major construction projects. Develops and supports the creion of acquisition stregies and standardizion initiives.
Supply Management:
responsible for the management and control of NX equipment and the inventory management of all NX assets; provides full logistics and supply chain support of pre-planning, preparion and equipment purchases; implements and monitors automed NX inventory management systems; and analyzes, studies, develops, and directs systems in connection with the NX requirements. Implements best practices, principles, tools and concepts to evalue and improve supply system performance. Manages the equipment / supplies for multiple programs. Trains and assists deleged staff. Schedules and conducts physical inventories.
Supervision:
supervises employees from separe but interreled units; makes recommendions for promotions, reassignments and awards; develops position descriptions and performance standards; conducts semi-annual and annual performance reviews; assists subordine staff with performance issues; schedules and grants leave; monitors overtime usage; resolves informal complaints and grievances; develops the ability of subordine staff; develops individual development plans for professional growth and development; coordines and integres various technical units to ensure compliance; conducts on the job training and in service training; and assesses training and educional needs and implements training programs. Writes, develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures to ensure an efficient program. Serves as Training Officer for the Merial Management Section of the Supply Chain Management service. Performs other reled duties as assigned.

Time-In-Grade Requirement:

Specialized Experience:
