Job Title:
Consumables Management Technician Job Description The Consumables Management Technician is responsible for performing various routine laboratory services functions, including managing a centralized storeroom for regular and specialized laboratory equipment, supplies, chemicals, and other related items. This role involves utilizing multiple systems to fulfill orders for the purchase of goods and services that support client research. Responsibilities Manage a centralized storeroom for regular and specialized laboratory equipment, supplies, chemicals, and related items. Utilize systems such as Ariba, SAP, and Jaggear to fulfill orders for purchasing goods and services supporting client research. Place requisitions within the purchasing system to maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels determined by the stockroom manager(s). Support inventory management to ensure order fulfillment and on-hand quantities meet site requirements. Manage chemical stockroom, laboratory supply stockroom, and site inventories. Receive and check incoming supplies against specifications, store items in proper locations and containment, and issue them against approved requisitions. Deliver materials, chemicals, and supplies to laboratories or laboratory supply cabinets/points of use as approved. Communicate with supervisor regarding supply stock, material needs, and software upgrades. Comply with all regulations and documentation while performing services in applicable areas. Essential Skills Experience with laboratory services and inventory management. Fulfillment and stockroom management. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 0-2 years of related experience. Work Environment The work environment includes managing a centralized storeroom and delivering materials to laboratories or designated supply points. The technician will utilize technologies such as Ariba, SAP, and Jaggear systems for inventory management. Compliance with regulations and proper documentation is essential while performing services in applicable areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Harvard, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
