POSITION
Inventory Control Specialist Spencer Technology is a global provider of field services and support and related offerings to channel and end users alike. Focused on infrastructure covering cabling through to all the active equipment, Spencer actively helps customers with their digital challenges supporting them with design, engineering, procurement, deployment, and aftercare needs to enable customers a cost-effective means by which to address these challenges. JOB DESCRIPTION
The inventory control specialist is responsible for the control, and accuracy of customer-owned inventory. This includes the annual physical inventory, development, and execution of inventory control processes, inventory adjustments, and research. This role will contribute to the creation of processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Essential Functions:
Support the onboarding of new services as it relates to inventory needs Ensure all customers, new and existing have accurate asset handling form Assist in the development of and execution against inventory control processes Assist in the development of and conduct annual physical inventory and cycle counts Make, as directed, inventory adjustments as needed Control movement of inventory within the warehouse (location transfers, etc.) Research inventory discrepancies Monitor inventory levels and partner with customers and strategic sourcing to replenish stock as needed to meet customer demand Assist in the forecasting of supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability Partner with Warehouse management to ensure receiving function including all receipts from vendors and internal departments (returns, reprocessing, etc.) adheres to SOP Assist in the preparation of written documents/SOP for movement of product and special projects Work closely with management on establishing and meeting KPI's Work closely with management and finance department on reporting inventory activity Partner with inventory analysts on generating dashboards/reports to ensure inventory accuracy Responsible for identifying the root cause of all inventory adjustments Responsible for the accuracy of inventory in the warehouse Partner with warehouse/production management on the organization of warehouse (i.e., placement of parts, labeling of bins…) Ensure stale inventory is addressed by establishing and executing on a consistent scrapping program Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements as required Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a warehouse or similar working environment Must be detailed oriented Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work well under pressure Good analytical, decision making and independent judgment skills Must have leadership skills Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel) as well as possessing good math Highly organized; must be able to handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy Must be capable of prioritizing activities and scheduling to obtain effective results Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality Ability to manage processes Be able to manage competing priorities, provide sound, logical planning of activities, and be a team player.
