Job Description

Camfour Inc., a privately held distributor in the shooting sports industry, is seeking a driven and analytically minded Assistant Buyer to support our procurement team. This role is designed for someone looking to make a huge impact at an industry leader. This position plays a key role in managing product data, supporting vendor relationships, identifying inventory opportunities, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Create, administer, and report on cycle counts
  • Audit inventory locations to maintain high levels of accuracy
  • Adjust inventory as needed based on findings and discrepancies
  • Maintain "preferred bins" to ensure correct and optimized product locations
  • Maintain and update shelf tags to ensure proper product labeling
  • Create and manage restock reports; assist with restocking as needed
  • Partner with warehouse team to correct inventory quantities and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor inventory movement to identify and prevent recurring issues Compliance & ATF Recordkeeping
  • Maintain and update A&D (Acquisition & Disposition) records to ensure full compliance
  • Maintain a daily local copy of the A&D book
  • Monitor A&D API error logs and correct transaction issues promptly
  • Identify and verify firearm markings for proper bound book acquisition
  • Monitor serial number receipts and correct scanning errors quickly
  • File and maintain Form 3s and other required compliance documentation
  • Track and report lost, stolen, and recovered firearms to appropriate authorities
  • Ensure vendor FFLs and SOTs are current and properly documented
  • Stay up to date on federal, state, and local firearm regulations Operational Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with warehouse management to ensure accurate receiving and inventory handling
  • Respond to Sales team inquiries regarding state-level restrictions and compliance requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of inventory control and compliance processes
  • Make recommendations to management on process improvements related to inventory and ATF requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, compliance, or warehouse operations
  • Experience working in a regulated environment preferred (firearms industry strongly preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience preferred (NetSuite a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, and operations teams
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with ATF regulations and A&D recordkeeping
  • Experience with serial number tracking and controlled inventory
  • Knowledge of FFL and SOT requirements
  • Experience auditing inventory and reconciling discrepancies
  • Process improvement mindset with a proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to respond quickly to internal inquiries Compensation & Benefits
