Temp (Contingent Worker) | Full-time About the Opportunity Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist for a leading electronics/data storage manufacturing company in Bloomington, MN. In this role, you'll help reclaim and organize valuable lab space by identifying, sorting, and properly handling parts and materials in an active technical lab environment. This is a hands-on opportunity where your technical judgment, organization skills, and attention to detail will directly support engineering and lab teams. Inventory Control Specialist:

• Review unused and underutilized lab spaces to identify stored parts, tools, and equipment
• Assess materials and determine whether items should be kept, consolidated, or discarded
• Reduce clutter and reclaim lab space by coordinating removal or disposal of obsolete items
• Organize retained parts and materials for easy access and future use
• Document inventory decisions using basic tools like spreadsheets, lists, and photos
• Coordinate with engineering, lab owners, and EHS teams to ensure safe and compliant disposal
• Work safely and professionally in an active lab environment with minimal disruption What You Need to Bring to the Inventory Control Specialist role:
• Hands-on experience in a technical lab, manufacturing, or engineering environment (technician-level preferred)
• Strong familiarity with parts, materials, and lab or manufacturing equipment
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision
• Comfort with standing, walking, bending, and light to moderate lifting throughout the shift
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
